the calling card - a few photos

Okay so it's late and I'm bored, well I can't be arsed to sleep just yet. Here's a few photos before I go to bed. Just some quick edits.

Many many more to come from this shoot.

the calling card studio shoot.

Just got back from my studio promo shoot with The Calling Card. Went amazing.

My lecturer / tutor Jason Evans helped me set up the lighting so I got it exactly how I wanted it. The band were amazing and so patient with my medium format issues :)

I took over 500 digital shots. And 2 rolls of medium format film so I'll upload pictures throughout the next week as I make my way through them and edit them.

second year fashion - milly

So I'm not uploading any photos from today's shoot for Milly's fashion design work. Mainly because the photos are awful.

Milly got VERY behind on her work from going out a lot and didn't finish until this evening. Meaning I had to shoot in an almost pitch black location so I couldn't focus manually as I couldn't see to do so. And I couldn't use autofocus as it couldn't pick up anything.

Complete fail.

Anyways.. I got SOME photos which she can use for her project. But I'm not happy enough with them to post them on here.

Never again am I being messed around this much for a shoot - seeing as I waited all day. And I didn't even get a thank you!

Anyways.... end of rant.

I've got a promo shoot with The Calling Card tomorrow in the studio which I am so excited for. I can't wait to get back in the studio. It must be at least 6 months.

Very excited about this.

As well as digital this will be shot in medium format so lets see how this comes out :)

Wish me luck - I'll update you tomorrow.

second year fashion - rach

2 blogs in one day. I WILL keep this updated.

So today I did a shoot for my friend Rachel's fashion project. Not the BEST photos I've ever done, but still. I like them.

Few photos, have a looksie

Model - Radima
Designer - Rachel Higgins
Hair Stylist - Milly Fewtrell-Smith
Location - Caerleon, Newport
Photography and Post-Processing - Me

I'm doing another shoot tomorrow for my friend Milly's project so I'll TRY to remember to update :)

i officially fail at blogging - the calling card

So I've not done a blog in a while; but then again I haven't done photos in ages either.

Anyways... earlier this week I did a live shoot for a south wales pop-punk band The Calling Card. They're pretty awesome tbh... The venue wasn't that great so the lighting was a bit shitty - then my flash gun broke so these are all done with a rubbish on-camera flash.

I hope you like them, I've saved them with some Photoshop and Light Room.

I got a bit bored and made these photos are bit colourful - so I'm not sure whether they work. I liked them anyway so PFFFT!

The rest of the photos are in black and white :)

Thats the lot for now. I might do some more if I have chance.

Be sure to check out their myspace http://www.myspace.com/wearethecallingcard

I'm doing a studio shoot with them on Monday evening so expect to see a lot more photos of these guys. They are lovely.

photoshoots over Christmas.

Over Christmas I'll be back in Cambridge and I've got 2 photoshoots planned for the short time that I'm back. They're both going to be in medium format and digital.

My uni project is consumerism so they're going to be location shoots in relation to that

Shoot 01 is going to be with Lily and Alice Bagshaw in Cambridge City Centre

Shoot 02 is going to be with Inga Garriock in Cambridge City Centre

It'll be nice to work with these models when I get back as they are all friends of mine I have not seen since moving to Wales.

I am also organising a shoot for when I'm back after Christmas

Shoot 03 is going to be with Danni Dolly at the studio here at uni.

Anyways... that was just a quick update. :)

silly university.

Since I've been at uni I've really not had that many opportunity to do photoshoots. It's kind of ridiculous after 4 months of studying a fashion course only getting the chance to do one location shoot. As a result of this I am considering leaving uni and just doing freelance work.

I'm going to give it until after Christmas to clear my head and decide but I'm just not happy on this course right now...

Anyways... I just thought I'd right SOMETHING on here so I can keep it semi up to date.
